In an effort to optimize and enhance connectivity to the Dealer
Management System (DMS), StoneEagle has released SEcureLink. There
is no additional cost for SEcureLink. It is VPN quality, speed and
reliability without the cost or complexity of establishing a VPN. |

 |
- Eliminates Dial-Up Costs
- Quick and Easy installation
- Automotive Retailer will have full control of the machine we use to connect to the DMS
- Fully Automated Software

 |
- If possible, SEcureLink should be installed on the dealership’s server. If the server is not an option then one PC at the dealership with access to the DMS will work.
- The PC should be left on 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. If the PC is turned off StoneEagle cannot establish the link.
- Windows XP, Windows 2000
- Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
- Within the PC’s Power Option Properties (in the Control Panel), the Standby and Hibernate Settings on PC must be set to NEVER

Q: Is it similar to Symantec pcAnywhere?
No, connections cannot be initiated from outside your network. You
initiate the connection, not StoneEagle. SEcureLink will only
connect to StoneEagle.
Q: Will I have to keep my PC on all of the time?
Yes, the connection will be broken if you shutdown the computer. You
do not have to be signed on to the PC.
Q: Do I have to keep the SEcureLink Window open at all times?
No, you can close the window. The computer must remain powered on.
Q: Do I need a VPN?
No, SEcureLink performs a similar function. All SEcureLink
communications to StoneEagle use an industry standard encryption
technology. The connection to StoneEagle is made through your normal
internet connection.
Q: Will you have access to anything else on our system?
No, we will only have telnet access to your DMS on the IP address
and port that you specify in the configuration. We will only be
authorized to the functions on the DMS that you enabled for our user
id.
Q: We will not do it because this will create a backdoor that
will allow hackers to hack into our system. Will this open a
backdoor for hackers into a dealerships system?
Connections cannot be initiated from outside your network. You
initiate the connection, not StoneEagle. SEcureLink will only
connect to StoneEagle’s secure network.
Q: Can I install SEcureLink on more than one PC in my dealership?
No, SEcureLink can only be installed on one PC. Future versions will
support being installed on more than one PC. Only one PC will
actually connect to StoneEagle at a time, with another one taking
over if the active connection fails.
Q: What happens if the PC that SEcureLink is installed on is not
functioning?
StoneEagle will not be able to retrieve your data. In the future, we
will attempt to connect using the modem attached to your DMS.
Q: Is SEcureLink compliant with Graham, Leach, Bliley (GLB)?
SEcureLink in of itself does not have any GLB exposure. It uses
commercially available encryption.
